Ramblings of the Week, March 05, 2018

I have today off because I needed to go to the DMV to get my driver’s license renewed. I made an appointment for 9 and I am glad I did. When I got there the line for those without appointments was way out the door. At first I thought, what are they not open yet? But nope these were non-appointments. I couldn’t find a place to park there either so I had to go to the courthouse parking lot behind the DMV. I was worried it was going to take me forever, but nope that’s the beauty of an appointment. I was out of there by 9:15.

I came home and got on the exercise bike for 15 minutes too. I have to start small. I am so out of shape.

This past weekend I discovered something that puts me in a very bad financial situation. I won’t go into the details but to suffice it to say it’s not good. It’s temporary but it’s bad and I spent some time crying over it this weekend. It is what it is though, so moving on.

I didn’t do any writing this weekend and I wasn’t really sorry about it either. I’ll see what I can get going soon.

Also the mother has had increasing bouts of dementia that is affecting our family. I mean she’s 91 so you can’t expect them to be happy and healthy forever and she’s had a good life but it’s been stressful.

I intended to do some closet cleaning this past weekend but honestly I am a little under the weather and tired and depressed so I didn’t bother. I don’t know about this coming weekend.

There’s a little humming bird outside my window right now sitting on a tiny tree we have on our patio. He looks quite a lot like this guy here. Super cute

A short rambling

I got a new chapter of My Devotion up today. It was honestly a struggle. It’s been more than a year since I started this story and I am kind of ready for it to be over. I feel like maybe it’s obvious given no one has even bothered to comment on the update. Sigh.

Had a good time on the weekend but it went fast and here I am at work again. I do have Monday the 5th off but that’s to take care of some personal business. Nothing fun.

Other than getting My Devotion’s update done I hope to do some work on the blog story I just posted last night as well as the continuation of the 100 words. I don’t feel like killing myself with updates now so we shall see what else comes my way.

 

 

Ramblings of the Week, February 19, 2018

Finished Sleeping Beauty this past week, got up a little short, The Dance, and updated Unbonded and What Happened to Spock. Not bad.

Had some car trouble last week that cost us $893 but after whining some to the sister, she gave us a check to cover it. Woo.

Joined Weight Watchers and lost 4 pounds my first week. Yay.

Not sure what I will work on this week. I did post the start of an Academy Fic (I love those), The Experiment, but we shall see. Technically on the spreadsheet I should be working on My Devotion.

Going to see Black Panther Tuesday. Already got the tickets. This  coming weekend, on the 24th, we are headed to Morro Bay over night. I’m looking forward to it.

I just got up another chapter of Sleeping Beauty. And with only two more to go I am on track to get it completed by Wednesday.

No idea what I will work on after. It depends on my whims right now. I didn’t do a darn thing with writing all weekend. Very lazy.

I anticipate a slow, quietish week this week. We don’t really do V Day so no plans for that. One of our cars is on the fritz so we will look to getting that fixed.

Morro Bay overnight isn’t until Feb 24, so I anticipate another quiet, lazy weekend this weekend coming up too.

I hope to get another chapter of what I’ve been posting here, called When I Loved You, and I’ll have another 100 words of my 100 words fic up on Friday.

 

Ramblings of the Week, 01/22/2018

St. John USVI

And yes, I am going to that place you see above, that is Trunk Bay, St. John US Virgin Islands

Okay I have pre-scheduled 100 words or less flashes for this Friday, the 26th, and next Friday, February 02.

I can hardly believe it is almost time for my cruise. We take the “flyaway” to the airport Friday night. I don’t know if other areas have this but it’s an airport bus service so that you don’t have to drive yourself all the way to LAX. Or beg someone else to do it for you. LAX is a major pain to drive to because it’s on one of the world’s busiest freeways. Anyway, it’s much easier to convince a friend or family member to take you to the Flyaway. Our flight leaves at 11:50 PM Friday night and we land at 7:30 AM or so in Orlando. At about 10 we take a shuttle we paid for through Carnival to the port where our ship leaves. We can get on about Noon and the ship departs at 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon.

I will be back somewhere around 8:30 to LAX on Saturday February 03. Then we collect our luggage and catch a Flyaway bus back where someone picks us up from there. Probably be in my house ready for bed by 11ish. I hope. LOL. Then I will have all day Sunday the 4th to recuperate and do laundry.

When I made the plans for this trip it seemed so far away so that it is actually here is pretty strange to me. There are nine of us going so it should be fun.

This week I’d like to finish Who’s the Daddy, get a new chapter done on Bitter Frost, and a new one on You’re in My Veins. I am pretty sure I can do it.

No movie this week. Last week we saw Jumanji. It was amusing. We’ve seen everything we were going to see I think anyway. I think in February we will see the Pacific Rim movie. And of course in March is Wrinkle in Time.

In writing, I updated last week, Anything, Where My Demons Hide, My Devotion, and began Bitter Frost.

This week you can expect another chapter of Bitter Frost, Didn’t We Have it All, and Turning Page.

Ramblings of the Week, January 08, 2018

On the 7th, I updated A Surprise with a second chapter.  I always wanted more to this one-shot but didn’t have time to accomplish that at the time. I have now.

I will updated My Devotion.

This coming weekend is a three day weekend for me. We get MLK off. On Sunday is my niece’s baby shower at a restaurant called The Old Spaghetti Factory. Otherwise nothing else is set in stone for the weekend.

This week on Tuesday I will finally be seeing Star Wars. I saw Ferdinand last week and it was cute but not amazing like Coco was. I’m rather unfairly ambivalent about seeing Star Wars, but others in our movie going group want to see it so we will. Just the endless hype of it just gets to me and it’s certainly gotten worse with Disney in charge.

I made a bunch of arrangements for my cruise coming up in now less than three weeks! I am having a hot stone massage (I booked this back on Black Friday) but now also beginning Acupuncture (just to try it) as my second massage. I also booked an excursion to St. John’s of the US Virgin Islands, a walking tour of the top 10 things to see in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a taste of Grand Turk tour.

I also have onboard gifts sent to my fellow travelers (and me of course). Yeah, I am rather a nut case. But it will be fun. We will have fun and everyone is excited.

I am feeling so much better. My cough is gone. Yay. I am still on some medicine but in about a week and a half I should be done with everything.

I may skip a flash this week to concentrate on some neglected stories. We shall see.

And that’s my rambles for now.

End of the Weekish Ramblings

I can happily report that When I Fall in Love has been concluded. Yay!

Also today I reserved my first overnight in Morro Bay. Anyone who knows me, knows I can never wait long to get back to my favorite place. So, with that in mind I have booked Saturday, February 24th. As long as it doesn’t rain, the plan is on.

I think next up for me is to work on a second chapter for A Surprise.  Then I will move on to two more stories desperately in need of updating.

For now, tomorrow, look for a Pinto flash fic.

Ramblings of the Week, January 01, 2018

Well my friends, 2017 is behind us. Will we  all survive 2018? That remains to be seen or experienced.

I can’t say 2017 was all bad for me. But I started 2017 sick and ended it sick. That pretty much sucked.

But I did get to go to Morro Bay twice. I saw Yellowstone. And I had my mother around for another year. I kept my job. N. Korea hasn’t blown us up yet. All good things.

I wrote and started many stories. And some I even finished! LOL.

In just a few weeks, I will be on my Caribbean Cruise 2018. The last one we went on was in 2014 or 2015. I forget which. I thought it was 2015 but M thinks it was 2014. Anyway, a while ago and I anticipate not going on another one for the foreseeable future.

I anticipate having a nice time, anyway.

This year I resolve to get healthier. Actually use that exercise bike we bought. And try to be financially healthier too.

I also resolve to finish all the stories I have already started. When? Well, 2018 just began so we will see!

Next up for me is I want to conclude my Cinderella Spirk story before I go any further with anything else. So look for the conclusion of When I Fall in Love.

I want to be able to begin posting the Winter Story soon. I think I may call it “Frostbite” but we shall see.

My friend, AO, has requested my flash fic for Friday, January 05 to be Pinto related. We shall see if I can do it.

This coming Saturday, January 06, I will be undecorating my family’s house. Hopefully we will have the energy.
