“I have the great Kirk where I want him.” The Gorn put a scaly hand on Jim’s battered, swollen face. His other hand jabbed Jim in his injured stomach. “I’m going to split you open and cook your meat over an open fire. We will dine on your flesh tonight.”
“And here I thought you were vegetarians.”
The Gorn hissed. “Your insolent bravery will soon be replaced with cries for mercy.”
The whir of the transporter had Jim grinning, bloody teeth and all.
“Or not.”
He reappeared on the Enterprise and collapsed to the ground.
“What took you so long?”

So good. I love this premise!
You know, I never took time to notice. That’s really a cute little outfit that Gorn had on! I wonder if any designer used it on a runway model, since they’ve used the Mudd’s Women designs all through the decades? I’d lose the belt, but I’m not a belt person. 🙂
Jim’s mouth – good news and bad news, huh? Gets him in (and out of) all sorts of trouble, but he always wants to go down swinging.

It’s an interesting little jumper outfit for him to wear for sure. I couldn’t find an AOS Gorn so I used the TOS version figuring they would be similar. Yep, Jim sure can’t help himself!

I loved that Jim’s first comment when rescued, was a snarky complaint! “What took you so long?” I’m sure it’s addressed to Spock, who was overcome with worry about Jim! Spock’s only outwardly emotional response would be the raising of one eyebrow. Lol! That Gorn, although stronger, had met his match. Jim wasn’t going to back down, even when backing down might help.
I agree with j, I bet that outfit as used again. The TOS costume department was definitely frugal! I guess they had to be, just to keep Captain Kirk in shirts! LOL!
