Well…Happy Saint Patrick’s Day, I guess

I’ve got nothing else, really. I am working at work for now. Most of the building is working from home. Not me. And that’s fine.
The news and the situations are constantly changing. So…I guess all I can say is stay safe.
There are three flashes in a row this week as there’s one on Thursday for Kris’ birthday.
I am working on another song one-shot but have barely started. I’m going to continue to work on my bang story too but it may be canceled or I may withdraw and just post it on my own. We will see.
Anyway, this too shall pass. I hope.
Stay say and well, my friends. I promise to keep posting Spirk and other stuff as time allows.

3 flashes this week – that’s a wonderful gift for all, too! This is my happy place. Do you have the choice to work from home or is your job such that you have to be there to be handed stuff to write on?

I have to be here. Don’t have a company issued laptop and I have to accept legal documents and work with PHI, so pretty much I can’t work from home. There has been talk of “alternating” days with the other person who does my job but nothing has been decided as that person is on PTO today and yesterday, but honestly with no one here anyway I am okay working in the office, it’s a ghost town and I am practically alone anyhow. My boss wants it to be fair though so we shall see. I have next Monday and Tuesday off myself for the canceled trip and I am going to still take them

Oh. “The other person.” That means they still hadn’t hired the third person. Well, I don’t blame you. I always LOVED working at school when the kids weren’t there, or even when the other subjects’ teachers were gone to various meetings across the district. I could get so much done and it was so peaceful. I always thought (jokingly maybe?) that teaching would be a blast if it wasn’t for all those kids! ha I can’t complain though – I always had the kids who were the best of the best.
Once at our big music convention, all 20,000 of us (minus the drunk band directors – you often didn’t see them) (I’m NOT kidding – they’d immediately drive across the border and bring back huge bottles of whatever their alcohol preference was – once I saw my old music teacher from 1970 who taught mostly band, who I hadn’t seen in decades and it wasn’t 5 minutes before he invited me to this big naked drinking party the band directors have every year at the huge motel across from the convention center) – (tmi? Sorry) (NO I DIDN’T GO – I don’t look good naked. Trust me. my self esteem didn’t need yet another hit) (I’m JOKING – I wouldn’t go. I don’t like to drink) (I”M JOKING – I wouldn’t go. I couldn’t believe his nerve to not see me in decades and immediately invite me to the thing – band directors are just different animals. The choir directors dressed up, dresses, ties, went to everything. Orch directors in pants, went to everything – and there just aren’t many of them anyway. Band directors? When you DO see them they’re in cutoffs and drunk and NOT at the meetings.)
Anyhoo – man, was THAT rabbit chasing. I gotta get out of the house more. I mean, when we’re allowed out of our houses.
So they always announce how kids in the all-state orchestras and choirs and bands have much higher SAT scores – that music makes you smarter. I contend that’s a fallacy – only the smartest kids make all-state.. There are lots of lower scoring musician kids. So apples and oranges.
But this one does count. School districts have to report how many kids (and embarrassingly, of all ethic groups and genders) have detentions and suspensions.
Music kids have MUCH lower numbers of those. But this one year, they failed to mention orchestra and people complained during the meeting that they left them out.
And they said, “No, we didn’t. There WEREN’T any suspensions of orch kids in Texas last year.”
All that is to say, yeah, if I were you, I’d MUCH rather work with everyone else gone. I’ve been there.

Yes, due to all this it is delayed until at least June.
Yes, you definitely rabbit chased. I can’t see you drinking and going to naked drinking parties, trust me. So yeah.
Like I said, there may be days I work part days or something but that has yet to be conveyed to me

On the upside I use more of their toilet paper at work than my own supply at home 🙂

😄😄😄 And there’s your silver lining!
BTW – since CA is notorious for traffic, how IS traffic now between home and work and around?

It IS definitely better. It’s not NO traffic because some of us are still going in, obviously, but definitely lighter and lighter in the parking lot here too

Happy belated St. Patrick’s Day. Today is my oldest daughter’s 22nd BD. She’s insisting that she wants to stay down in Brooklyn. I’m concerned for her safety and her mental health down there.
Hope your work load is manageable. I work as the night supervisor at a nursing home so work continues on. We are no longer taking admissions, just taking precautions screening everyone entering the building everyday. The “new normal “! I’m going get sick of hearing that phrase! Sigh!
I’m super happy to hear that you are doing three flashes! As was said above, Spirk is my happy place.
Stay well. ❤️💚😘☘️
