Okay so, as you know, the 31 Days of December Flashes are over. It was really fun and I am seriously considering the same for next December.
But this brings me to what’s planned for 2020. I was going to have it be a surprise, but in all honesty I am terrible with keeping surprises, so for January Friday Flashes are back. One will premiere tomorrow.
In February I will start up with Wednesdays as well as Fridays again. I have already written and scheduled a Valentine’s flash for TOS and intend to do one for AOS also.
Now that the holidays are over I hope to get back to some neglected fics. I’ve already had someone on AO3 ask me to get back to Nine Lives, so obviously that’s on my schedule. There’s also the Vulcan Who Fell to the Earth, My Heart Wants to Sigh, Orchestral Maneuvers, My Devotion, Our So-Called Life, The Space in My Bed, and on and on.
And those are the ones I’ve already got going. There are still others in my head, like a sequel to Best Friends, the continuation of Every Four Years (it IS a leap year), etc.
Should be another crazy year.
But that brings me to some other things that need addressing.
At work there were three of us doing the job I do. My good friend who I have worked with for a number of years posted for another job, a promotion, in our department, and got it. That means there are now only two of us doing the job and it’s wicked busy. I honestly don’t know if they are going to replace her, but she certainly hasn’t been yet, so work is well…difficult right now. And I did a LOT of my writing at work. That’s not going to be as possible as it used to be. Fair warning.
Up this weekend is taking down my sister’s decorations.
I have made reservations for going to Morro Bay toward the end of March for two days so wish me luck that I actually get to go this time! I made it weeknights instead so it’s a bit cheaper.
So anyway, that’s the report for the start of 2020. Thank you for your continued support, reading, and friendship.

What a gorgeous day you had!
Ugh on the work situation. Serious ugh. I hope they do replace her bc I know how much ot sucks to be understaffed.
We’ll wait for words if we have to. 🙂
Looking forward to updates on those fics. And any new ones. And the flashes. Just basically all of it! But as I said, I’m happy to get those words as I can get them. Draws out the anticipation!
Yay for MB! All fingers crossed! You deserve it!

It really was a perfect day! Today it’s windy which sucks but yesterday was postcard perfect.
I do deserve MB so here’s hoping indeed. I am also back strict on the diet as I have gained 10 lbs back over the holidays! Ugh!
The good news is my phone service has gotten much much better at work in the last couple of weeks so there is a positive there!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! Friday Flashes! You kidder!
I couldn’t be more delighted! My happy dance is a lot slower and more awkward these days, but just as bright and cheerful on the inside.
So much to look forward to in Ivan’s spirk world. Well, and OURS, obviously.
Should we write your bosses some strongly worded letters about getting another person in there? Not replacing her? I mean, them’s fightin’ words as we say here – taking up our Ivan writing time. Don’t they get it????
Priorities people!!!!
Your pic is a very welcomed breath of fresh air. I haven’t been in CA or LA in over 45 years, but I remember it being so beautiful.
Glad you’re finally on for MB.
Be careful Saturday. Those decorations up and down always scare me a little. Or they always did for me back when I did so.

My previous response to you was eaten by the year 2020 😀
I knew my flashes would please you ❤
I just don't know whether to make the January ones all related. I haven't written any of them but tomorrow's.
I'm trying to remember what year I was in TX. I've been to the airport in Dallas/Ft Worth but that doesn't count! I have been to Houston and San Antonio. Don't remember much about Houston. It was for work and I was picked up, brought to a hotel, brought to a conference, brought to dinner, and then brought to the airport again in a very short time. San Antonio we spent a few days so I got to see the Alamo. Nice place. But we were there in the beginning of October so it was muggy and filled with thunderstorms!

Was the RiverWalk a big deal yet? Because it is now. So beautiful (well, for US anyway). That’s where I saw the beautiful chameleon like snake, blue and white (I didn’t know there were any blue and white snakes) wrapped around a decorative blue/white tile plant pot outside a popular restaurant, and I was walking with a stick and decided to poke the pretty tile snake. Which immediately unwrapped itself and slithered off into the river. You just never forget something like that! But Cinco De Mayo and Christmas, OMG, they go all out. My kids loved it. We rented 2 boats and had dinner on a little river cruise when we performed there the last time.
Yeah, I thought you were mad at me. Most everyone is, so you’d just have to take a number if you were. ha

Snort!
Yes. Our hotel was off the Riverwalk and we dined at a restaurant there. It was all for work also but they gave us extra time to enjoy it. We went on one of the little boats too. Then after dinner I felt yucky so I went back to my room. Everyone else went out to party more (we arrived the night before and had partied then too, HA HA) so when I got back to my room there was a huge thunder and lightening storm going on so I sat by the window and watched it. Very cool. I bet it’s something else at Christmas

**sorry – left out I thought the snake was just a decorative tile that was a part of the pot. I had no idea it was real when I poked it – or I wouldn’t have.**

I loved your December flashes! Each one is a gem. It made the countdown to Christmas very bright for me. Thank you! Looking forward to more flashes next December, if you do write them. Also looking forward to seeing flashes in January and February and updates to your WIPs!!!
Love your photo. Looks like a beautiful day. We had ice at the end of last week-ugh, but today it’s a high of 46° with perfectly clear skies. I guess we should be happy we’re not in Washington state, one :town had a “blizzard” of tumbleweeds – some places 30 feet high! OMG!
I do hope you get to enjoy MB. I know it fell through last time. 😦
And working short sucks! I know it’s the same story at my job and my husband’s job too. His department also had three people and one left nearly a year ago and no sign of them looking for a replacement! I think these businesses just look at the bottom line. If they can make do by paying less employees to do more work they don’t care.
Well on that happy note, I wish you a Happy New Year once again. 🥳🎉Looking forward to reading your next flash.
💚❤️🖖
