Below are a couple of pictures outside my building showing you that we still had quite a bit of smoke in the area from Friday’s fire this morning.
Last Friday, M and I ended up having to stay home the roads to work were closed due to a massive fire. We were never threatened but it did play havoc with work.

Well…today was not at all productive writing-wise. Work was nuts as I wasn’t there Friday and my co-workers were still off. I did begin the next chapter for The Space in My Bed but didn’t get far at all.
I did get two chapters done on My Heart Wants to Sigh over the weekend. Still working on December stories, too. So please be patient! Thank you so much for you continued support.
Fasting today so grumpy! LOL

Gosh, having to breathe smoke constantly for days is plenty enough reason to be grumpy, minus fasting. I don’t envy you that at all. I certainly hope it clears up soon. Last I checked the paper, there were still fires not totally contained. Here there has been quite a comfortable cool down and some rain again finally. Not as much as they thought, but then it makes no more sense to trust weather forecasts than it does to play the lottery.
Thanks for checking in with us.
And I feel so lucky that you gave us chapter 2 already on My Heart. I could read more of that every day! But then I feel that way about all your fics, so no surprise there.

Yep it’s our lovely palm trees, very So Cal!
Yeah no fun for us asthma sufferers either but I stayed inside through most of it. The smoke was pretty much gone by this afternoon. Yeah and there are plenty scrambling to get updates on Cadet Ashayam and The Vulcan Who Fell to Earth
I need to clone myself!!

Clone you, as in Multiplicity! So 4 or 5 of you (I can’t remember). Yeah, that would…might do it. Nope, I’m wrong. One clone per WIP!

Y’all with the fires.
I still say gimme a blizzard.
I’m very glad it didn’t threaten you!
Boo work. It’s causing too much trouble. Cutting in on the writing time and the chatting time. Veto!

The smoke sounds and looks awful. I’d be terrified of the fires/earthquakes out there, oh and mudslides too. I hate NYwinters and blizzards, but California seems like too many potential natural disasters. I visited Northern California many years ago and we drove along the coast south as far as Hearst’s castle. I’d move to California in a heartbeat, except for fear of all of the above.
Your photos look lovely. I would have just thought they were just clouds. But I guess the smell of smoke is all around.
I csn understand you not updating at your usual schedule and speed. But RL takes precedent on your time… just don’t make it a habit. Lol! But seriously, update when you can. Don’t stress over it, Ivan. To paraphrase TOS Kirk: Genius cannot be rushed. ❤

I know and the news media exaggerates everything so it sounds even worse to people who don’t live here. I promise you we are not running for our lives every single day, week, month or year. LOL.
Thanks!

Or maybe you’re really into the adrenaline rush?! lol!
Here I’m looking out at grey skies. The prediction is lots of rain today with some wind. Tomorrow is going to be clear but very windy. People are saying it’s a nor’easter. I’m not sure the definition of nor’easter is. Tomorrow is supposed to have gusts up to 40 mph. Which is a shame, because the leaves here are really at peak. But all the rain and the wind will knock them all down.
