I can totally see you doing that, by the way. HA. Yes, it was a spur of the moment thing, I was like, how can I get them?I figured it might work for half a second HA HA… Spirk dead? Star Trek dead? They’ll have to pry it from my skeleton hands?

Here….you’ll forgive me now. I wrote this little snippet just for you.

The phone rang and rang. He was about to give up. He was feeling stupidly vulnerable and he absolutely hated that feeling.
“’lo.”
“Hey.”
For a long time silence greeted Zach and he thought for a second his heart would leap right up into his throat and out his mouth.
“Hey yourself.”
He had no clue why he was so nervous. “I’m coming there.” No response. “Chris?”
“When?”
“Well. There’s this thing. Um. WonderCon. It’s for that AMC thing.”
“NOS4A2.”
“Yes. It’s in Anaheim. It’s not a long visit. I’m coming back pretty quick to New York, but…”
“Where are you staying?”
“They’ve got me booked at the Hilton.”
“That hell hole? Filled with annoying families going to Disneyland.”
“Well.”
“You want to come here?”
Zach closed his eyes. “I…I wouldn’t want to impose.”
Chris chuckled, warm and deep. It did insane things to Zach’s groin.
“Oh you like to impose.”
“If you have, um, anyone there, then—”
“No one’s here. You want me to come get you or something?”
“No, I’m going straight to the con. I’ll get a car service to take me to your house.” Zach paused. “After. I fly out the next afternoon.”
“That is quick.”
“Yeah.”
“You sound down. Are you all right?”
Zach sighed. “Fine. Just…want to see you, is all.”
“I’ll be here when you get here.” Long pause. “Waiting.”
Zach’s mouth went dry and all he could think was, damn, WonderCon couldn’t pass fast enough.
