So I was watching The Original Series and saw the episode Operation Annihilate. If you don’t know that’s the famous episode where Spock goes blind (briefly).
It is also the episode with Deneva (pronounced in the show as Den-A-Vah, not De-NEE-Vah, which is how I would have preferred it was pronounced, lol). This is where Jim’s brother, Sam, (Shatner in a mustache) dies as well as his wife, Aurelan. Peter, Jim’s nephew survives.
By the way, we are pretty sure we know this building complex in LA. We think it’s one of the colleges. Looks super familiar to us.
Anyway the point of this is it had me thinking about returning to the Life You Are Given. I’m not sure exactly when I will but I will get to it.

Who does not even have blue eyes, by the way. What the hell is wrong with casting? They can’t find a child actor with blue fucking eyes?

Don’t get me started on bad casting…I about had a freak out seeing the last Harry Potter movies…the young actress playing little Lily Potter had big brown eyes. Not green. Big brown eyes! You have all these books and movies where ppl are constantly saying to Harry ‘you have your mothers eyes’ and you don’t even find a red haired girl with green eyes (or even blue eyes as Daniel Radcliffe’s eyes are blue) but big brown eyes >.< could've at least cgi the eyes…sorry about the rant here. It just really ticks me off still

Oh right! I’ve heard that complaint! That little girl is certainly cute but yes, considering Daniel had blue, they should have cast a little girl with blue eyes. I know what the book said, but Daniel’s were blue, so they should have gone with that for his mother. There are plenty of cute little girls with red hair and blue eyes! That’s my thing with the kind playing little Jim in AOS, BLUE EYES people. You can’t get much more blue than Chris Pine’s so yes, it it noticeable.

Up late, can’t sleep so I popped in.
Casting is one of those areas that is always a hit or miss in my opinion.
This story of yours is one I have not read, I am interested in reading it sometime.
